Obi Carry Cases are custom made from Retired Obis. These custom carrying cases are authentic and one of a kind.
An Obi is a long, broad sash that traditional Japanese women wear around their waists and are tied in an intricate knot in the back. To the westerner, it would be like a cumberbund.
The quality of an Obi can be seen in the meticulous detail of the stitching, how much silk is used and the amount of real gold that is used to embroider the silk.
Only the finest Obis are selected by our Sleeping Tiger LTD. The Obis converted to Zen Stick carry bags are between 60 and 70 years old and they are becoming more and more obsolete as ancient Japanese culture becomes westernized.
Today, very few women wear the traditional Obis, so extremely few of the high caliber we demand at Sleeping Tiger are ever made.
