Just a few years ago, I made the biggest move in my life. There were a lot of reasons why I decided to move to Oklahoma. I suppose there were two big reasons I wanted to move.

For one, I am 1/8 Choctaw and I wanted to learn more about my heritage, and likewise I wanted to own a small, private big cat sanctuary and a small town outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma provided the perfect opportunity.

In the move from Colorado, I was driving on another Oklahoma turnpike and pulled into a rest area to let my dogs play and exercise. For no apparent reason, I was attracted to a stick on the ground and began throwing it for the dogs.

The dogs, sniffing new and interesting things could have cared less about the stick. Retrieving the stick myself, I began tossing the stick into the air, end over end. That was easy enough, so I closed my eyes.

When I closed my eyes I realized that in order to catch the stick I would need to completely focus on it and forget about all of the other things going on (stress, excitement, high hopes, the move, a new life, etc.)

My dogs, jealous of my antics, soon nudged me in order to begin to play with them. It was when I opened my eyes that I realized how relaxed and refreshed I was, and knew from that moment on, that I had something I could contribute to people that would promote inner peace and a sense of well-being.

Today I am accomplishing my goals faster than ever before. I've started a successful big cat sanctuary and showcased the ZenSticks at Hollywood's Night of 100 Stars Gala and the 2007 NAACP Image Awards.

I’ve also had the opportunity to have two television appearances and I have several TV and Radio appearances coming in the near future.

None of this would have been possible without my enhanced ability to focus and relax. And it was all made possible by using my Zen Stick. What are ZenSticks™?

ZenSticks™ are pieces of exotic hardwoods that have been placed on a lathe and hand-tooled to a 1 ½ inch diameter. Approximately 11 inches long, the ZenSticks™ are hand sanded, beginning with 120 grit sandpaper (about as rough as a nail file), and gradually increased to a 4,000 grit jeweler’s sandpaper (evenly grained sandpaper that is softer than burlap).

ZenSticks™ are then buffed using a jeweler’s buffing wheel. This lengthy sanding and buffing process gives the Zen Stick™ a soft, warm finish that is irresistible to the touch. Using just a dab of jeweler’s rouge, the Zen Stick™ has a shine to it that causes the wood’s grain to become iridescent in the sunlight.

Please Note: It is especially important to us that the woods we have chosen for the ZenSticks are woods that have been harvested using environmentally sound practices.

Olive Wood is cut from the tree and the tree itself is not logged, it continues to live and produce. Koa is harvested from trees that have fallen naturally, no trees are destroyed. Lignum Vitae (The Wood of Life) is mass produced, no naturally existing forests are not damaged.
